Liscombe Recreation is Looking for Child Artists!

The walls in the Recreation Building are slowly beginning to fill up with drawings that have been left by past guests, which puts a smile on my face as the walls in there were quite bare and sad looking before.  By October, when we close, I would love to see those walls covered with art and I am hoping you can help me with that during your stay.

Liscombe Lodge Discovery Cruise

I absolutely adore cruising over the water in a boat so last week when I got the chance to join the 1:30 Discovery Cruise, I was on cloud nine!  It was quite the experience listening to Chester speak about the local people, the wildlife that you may get a chance to see, the history of Liscombe Lodge’s property and the possibilities for its future.  It was an hour well spent with Chester, he certainly is a great entertainer, but you would be wise to dress warm because it is quite chilly out there!

Liscombe Memory Book

I have no idea where the idea came from, but was I was ever glad Kyla and Tia were on property to make a Liscombe Memory Book with me!  The three of us sat in the Recreation Building while Kyla and Tia told me all about the drive down, them swim in the pool and the fun they had earlier playing games, all the while drawing pictures which portrayed their weekend.   By the end of the hour, we all had our pages bound in a book and proudly looked through our memories of the Lodge.  They’re hoping to come back next month.

Father’s Day 2012

Join myself, Amanda, on the loft above the Dining Room this Father’s Day for some fun and special crafts to show Dad how much you love him!  There will also be a special scavenger hunt waiting just for you by the Front Desk!   The dinner buffet runs from 11:30am-2pm and supper is from 4:30pm-8pm. I hope to see you there!
