Do you allow pets?

We have designated pet-friendly rooms two in hotel building and two Chalets. There is a pet charge of $50 per booking.

What is there to do at Liscombe Lodge Resort?

So much to do! Water sports including kayaks, canoes, paddle boat, paddle boards. We also have a tennis court; bikes to use, including a tandem bike, life-size chess, outside shuffle board, horseshoes, recreation building with a gym, pool table, shuffle board, board games, indoor pool with two hot tubs and a sauna. For the outdoor enthusiasts, five hiking trails and fishing in the Liscomb River.

Can I reserve kayaks, paddle boards and bikes?

Reservations can be made at front desk or go to the Marina. Please note all this equipment is for guest use only.

Do I need to book the boat tour?

Yes. Please reserve at our front desk.

How long is the boat tour?

The tour takes an hour.

How many people does it hold?

The boat holds 12 to 15 people.

Do you have free WIFI?

We do; it's included in your stay.

Are there rooms with balconies?

All 30 rooms in our main Lodge have balconies, most are overlooking the sparkling water of the Licombe River. All 17 Chalets have decks and the Riverside Bungalows have a deck that is shared with two guestrooms.

What is included in my room rate?

Room rates are based on double occupancy and include use of all facilities and recreation with the exception of our boat tour which is an additional charge.

Are your guest rooms non-smoking?

All our guestrooms are non-smoking.

What is the age to qualify for Senior Rate?

Do you have chargers for Electric Vehicles?

We will be installing chargers in the Spring of 2023.

When do you close for the season?

At the end of October but we are open on weekends during Novmeber.

How many meeting rooms do you have?

We have 3 meeting rooms: Riverview Room and the Falls 1 & 2.

How many people in each room?
  • Riverview Room: up to 120 people

What is the room rental of each room?

$400 per day for the Riverview Room, $200 per day for Falls 1 and Falls 2.

Do you have audio visual equipment?

Yes, we have projector and screen and microphone with podium.

Do you have catering menus or can I bring in food?

Catering menus are available upon request.

Do I need to rent guestrooms?

No. Guestroom rentals are not required to use our meeting facilities.

Do you supply water for meetings?

Yes, pitchers of water can be provided.

Is there parking?

Yes, there is plenty of free parking.

What is the base/starting rate?

For 2023 season the starting package price is $75 per person plus service charges & applicable taxes. Room rates start at $199 per night.

Can you offer more information about wedding packages?
What time can we get onto ceremony site to decorate?

This will depend on the location and Resort's occupancy at that time. Wadd's Lounge is a public area. However, if not booked exclusively for a wedding, we do need to respect the other guests with access of the facility. Typically, we would have the setup completed within a minimum of three hours prior to ceremony, at which time decorations can be added.

Can you provide me assistance when looking for Justice of the Peace or music options?
Does Liscombe Lodge Resort and Conference Centre provide decorations?

Other than what is committed in the Wedding Package if chosen, all decorations are the responsibility of the party contracting the space. All decorations are subject to approval of management of Liscombe Lodge Resort and Conference Centre.

Can we bring our own cake?

Absolutely! We will supply fridge space if required. In the wedding package the Resort staff will slice and place cake on trays to be set out, or given to the bride and groom to serve to their guests.

Should you choose to use the cake as your dessert the dinner there will be an additional plating charge of $2.00 per person.

What is the maximum occupant number for your venues?

We have 63 guest rooms and the maximum number of people we can host is 170.

What type of breakfast do you offer at Liscombe Lodge?

At the Lodge we offer our Signature Breakfast Bar Experience, which includes a Chef attended omelette station, hot breakfast items, continental breakfast items, sweet treats and much more. Try our self-serve coffee bar equipped with bodems, flavour shots and herbal teas. After 11am try one of our specialty coffees.

What is offered for lunch at the Lodge?

We understand that sometimes you just want to sleep in so we keep our Breakfast Bar Experience going right through the lunch period while adding some hardier lunch type dishes to the offering. You might also find delicious pasta dishes, amazing fish cakes, gourmet pizzas, assorted salads, seafood chowder and homemade soup.

Do you have a dessert menu?

Yes we do! It includes an assortment of home-made pies, old fashion bread pudding, and cheese cake with choice of toppings.

What specialty dishes are you known for?

A long standing tradition at Liscombe Lodge is the planking of our renowned Maple Planked Salmon. We are also well known for our delicious Atlantic Seafood Chowder and our prized Fish & Chips. No meal would be complete without a sampling of Connie's Artwork Creations, arguably the best desserts in Nova Scotia.

What types of seafood do you offer in the restaurant?

We offer a wide range of seafood, including our signature Maple Planked Salmon, Atlantic Seafood Chowder, steamed mussels, lobster rolls, haddock and halibut.

Is the restaurant able to accommodate special diets and allergies?

Our trained culinary team will work with you to create offerings to meet your specific dietary needs.

Are there vegetarian options available in the restaurant?

We offer a wide variety of vegetarian options, including our eggplant parmesan, mushroom risotto, Caesar salad, beet and goat cheese salad and more.

Do you have gluten-free options?

Yes we do. Be sure to ask your server.

What size gatherings can you accommodate?

At Liscombe Lodge we can accommodate gatherings of up to 100 guests.

Do you have a Kids-Eat-Free program?

Yes, meals are free for children under the age of 6. Children from 6 to 12 can order from the kids menu.

Is continental breakfast included with our stay?

Breakfast is not included. Our buffet-style breakfast is offered from 7:30am to 11am daily.

Where do you get your meat/fish from?

Liscombe Lodge works closely with local suppliers such as Six Maples Farm, Crossroads Valley Farm, Fisherman's Market, Afishionado Fish Mongers and Gordon Food Service to bring you the freshest meat and fish available.

Do you support local businesses for ingredients?

We support many local business to create our culinary delights, including Misty Mountain Maple Syrup, Cornect Family Farm, as well as independent growers.

Do you use locally grown herbs or vegetables?

Many of the vegetables and herbs used in our kitchen are grown right on our property at Liscombe Lodge. We have our own vegetable garden, herb garden and mushroom garden where we produce our own mushrooms including Oyster and Shiitake.

Do you offer take-out?

Yes, we have a special take-out menu.

Does the restaurant have a patio?

Yes, we do have a patio. It is off the dining room/lounge, overlooking the river and offering a full view of the dock and river boats, open for lunch and dinner.

What is the view from the restaurant like?

The views are breath taking; the river flows majestically while dozens of birds take advantage of the many bird feeders that line the river bank.

What types of wildlife will I see while dining?

You will see a multitude of birds, ducks, eagles, squirrels and possibly a seal frolicking in the river. You might even see a weasel or pair of geese with their goslings.

If you wish to stay with us on a weekend we recommend booking a week in advance. For regular week days, 48 hours is sufficient.

No, we would love to welcome you for one night or multiple nights. Inquire about out multi-night packages.

What is your season?

Liscombe Lodge is open from May to the end of October but we are also open on weekends during November.

What type of accommodations do you offer?

We have various types of accommodations including 30 hotel rooms with balconies and river views in the main Lodge, 5 Riverview Bungalows (Motel Style) with 4 rooms per unit, and 17 Chalets with or without river view and electric or wood burning fireplaces.

Various bed arrangements are available.

Are there additional fees?

On each reservation we charge a $15 nature preservation fee which goes towards supporting the trails and making them save, feed the wildlife in the area to keep them close to the lodge for guest viewing, and support the farm animal and pet compound for the pleasure of the guests.

Do you have a honeymoon suite?

We do! In our main Lodge on the second floor our beautiful suite has a king bed, jacuzzi tub, fireplace and a beautiful deck overlooking the Liscomb River.

  • There are electric fireplaces in all of our guestrooms in the main Lodge.
  • All of our Chalets have electric fireplaces.
  • The Riverside Bungalow rooms have a fireplace in the common living space.
Are there BBQs available?

What time do you close the bar?

The hours of alcoholic beverage service are 11:00am to 1:00am Monday through Sunday and holidays.

Is the pool open to the public?

No, it is for our guests only.

The pool is open from 10:00am to 10:00pm.

Are towels provided?

Do you offer room service?

We do not offer room service but you can call in your order and pick it up at front desk in the main Lodge.

How much is it to book my boat in for a night?

Is there a place I can pick up mail?

Please have any mail you wish to receive addressed to Liscombe Lodge, 2884 Trunk 7, Nova Scotia, B0J 2R0, and to your attention. Please pick up the mail at the main desk upon your arrival.

Is there cell service at the Marina?

Reception is better in the main and hotel building so we recommend you make and take your calls there.

Do you supply water?

Yes, we have a tap on the dock from which guests can fill containers or run a hose to fill their on-board water reserve tanks.

Are there bathroom facilities?

The marina washrooms are located in the marina/hotel building, just a short walk from the docks.

Are there laundry facilities?

Yes. There are coin-operated laundry facilities in the main building.

Do you sell gas or diesel?

Yes, we sell both gas and diesel. There is no minimum or maximum purchase amount. If you require fuel, please contact the reception desk located in the main Lodge.

How many boats at the wharf?

We have limited mooring and deck facilities. If a large group is planning a trip, please call ahead with boat numbers and sizes.

How many moorings are there?

There are 3 moorings.

How long can we stay?

As long as you wish.

Are we able to use the resort facilities?

Yes, it is included in the nightly fee.

Our Policies

What are your policies in regards to alcohol service?

The Resort has a duty under the laws of the province of Nova Scotia with regard to the dispensing of alcoholic beverages and will adhere to all laws and regulations pertaining to the service of alcohol. The Resort reserves the right to refuse to serve any person or group in circumstances that would result in the Resort being in conflict with the liquor laws. The Resort reserves the right to refuse service to intoxicated or under age persons. Your guest must be at least 19 years of age and have a picture ID to consume alcohol. We reserve the right to refuse alcohol service to any guests we feel has overindulged. The Resort reserves the right to terminate any function prior to the scheduled ending time if there is an infringement of its policies relating to liquor consumption or distribution.

Liscombe Lodge Resort and Conference Centre policy is the following:

  • Consumption for host bars will be charged on a per drink basis.
  • It is the policy of Liscombe Lodge to serve alcoholic beverages in a professional manner at all times.
  • Due to liquor laws, all liquor must be provided by Liscombe Lodge Resort and Conference Centre. We are happy to customize or special-order wines etc. to meet your particular requests.
Catering
  • All prices are subject to change without notice; however, Liscombe Lodge will guarantee prices sixty (60) days prior to the function. All food and beverage prices are subject to an automatic 16% service charge and 15% applicable tax.
  • For all meal functions, the Conference Services Department must be notified of the guaranteed number of guests attending the function(s) by 12:00 noon, seven (7) days prior to the function date (excluding weekends and holidays). Should no guarantee be received the hotel will prepare and charge for the original numbers quoted.
  • To be assured of your menu choice, we ask that you advise the hotel of your menu selection thirty (30) days prior to the function date.
  • Liscombe Lodge will be the sole supplier of food and beverage items, with the exception of wedding cakes. The customer is to identify and hold harmless Liscombe Lodge, their employees and agents against any damages and all suits caused by own, or by independent contractors on their behalf, including supplied materials and food or beverages for use or consumption by guests.
  • Hotel policy permits the service of alcoholic beverages from 11:00am to 1:00am.
  • For host and cash bars, should consumption fall below $250.00 per bar, a bartender fee of $50.00 per hour, per bar (minimum three (3) hours) will be applied unless otherwise stated in your package. Additional bar service: this labor could apply if sales are below minimum per hour.
  • The use of confetti sparkles or glitter is prohibited.
  • We do have basic audiovisual equipment. If you require any additional equipment you are to make arrangements with an audiovisual supplier.
  • To ensure that all requirements are as agreed upon, we ask that a signed copy of the Banquet Event Orders be returned to the Conference Services Office at least fourteen (14) days prior to the event.
  • Should the number of guests attending the function differ greatly from the original contracted number, the hotel reserves the right to provide an alternative room best suited for the group's size.
  • Personal effects and equipment must be removed from the function rooms at the end of the scheduled day unless reserved on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. We reserve the right to inspect and control all private functions. Liscombe Lodge is not responsible for damages to or loss of any articles left in the hotel prior to, during or following any function by the client or their guests. Special security arrangements may be made through our Conference Services Department.
  • Liscombe Lodge does not maintain storage space. Storage of goods shipped prior to the event are subject to prior arrangements and space availability. Liscombe Lodge does not accept liability for any loss or damage to goods stored before, during or after the event.
  • To avoid damage to doors and wall coverings, strong tape, tacks, nails or other attachments for posters, flyers or written materials are not permitted without prior consent from the Lodge.

Hike the trails!

You will see something interesting around every corner. A few special points of interest include Liscombe Falls, the suspension bridge, a fish ladder, salmon pools, and coming soon, the entrance to an old gold mine. You can also take pontoon boat cruises around Reily's Island.

Can I purchase snacks to take with us on the hiking trails?

Yes, we have many snacks available for sale in our lobby ranging from chocolate bars to baked goods. We can even prepare hiker packs consisting of cured meats, preserves and cheese for you.
